His governing style is: Throw shit against the wall and see what sticks. He doesn’t care if some of his edicts are overturned by the courts. That will give him an excuse to “reform” the courts. Remember, Hitler did not need to fire a single judge.

“And then one day all foreign Jews were expelled from Sighet.” Months later, a survivor of the massacre returned to Sighet. He told his story: Once in Polish territory, the Gestapo took over the train. “The train had stopped. The Jews were ordered to get off and onto waiting trucks. The trucks headed into the forest. There everyone was ordered to get out. They were ordered to dig huge trenches. When they had finished their work, the men from the Gestapo began theirs. Without passion or haste, they shot their prisoners. They were forced to approach the trench one by one and offer their necks. Infants were tossed into the air and used as targets for the machine guns. [The survivor] was not the same. The joy in his eyes was gone…. He spoke only of what he had seen. But people not only didn’t believe his tales, they refused to listen. Some even insinuated that he only wanted their pity, that he was imagining things. Others flatly said that he had gone mad.”

There’s an anti-Semitic myth that the Jews hardly resisted the Holocaust. In fact, there were armed rebellions not just in Warsaw, but in 100 ghettos throughout Eastern Europe. But it’s also true that accounts of the Holocaust were so horrific that people didn’t believe them. Since we now know what the racists are capable of, we are unlikely to make this mistake again.

Lest we forget the U.S. holocaust of slavery cost at a minimum, 60 million lives. Lest we forget the U. S. led Native American genocide cost at a minimum 20 million lives. Still think it will be different here with the murderous White Supremacists in power? You hang on to that delusion as long as you can, but when you’re forced to give it up, remember, I told you so.
